NEW UAS DEVELOPMENTS AT THE HELIRUSSIA 2024

On June 10-11, at the HeliRussia 2024, IKAR GROUP, which is one of the largest engineering and production holding in the country and engaged in the development and production of civil aviation systems and components, presented an upgraded model of the civil unmanned helicopter SH-450 M, the prototype of which was SH-450 the helicopter that has already proven itself. Thanks to improvements in the fuselage, power plant, fuel system, chassis and transmission, the reliability and workability of the drone have increased. As a result of the modifications, the performance of the helicopter was also improved, and the dry weight was reduced by almost 20 kg. By the end of 2024, IKAR plans to produce and deliver to the customer 20 serially-produced SH-450 M systems.

The production of IKAR GROUP helicopters is based in one of the largest industrial parks of the Russian Federation – Rudnevo, in the territory of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone. The production site of IKAR GROUP is part of the research and production ecosystem being created in Moscow, which will provide a full cycle of development, testing, certification and serial production of various types of unmanned vehicles.

“The successful experience in aviation engineering accumulated by the IKAR engineering center over 20 years, in combination with existing developments of unmanned aerial vehicles, in-house design bureaus, production site and testing center, enables IKAR GROUP to reach a new level in design and mass production of civil UAS,” emphasized Boris Bogomolov, President of IKAR Group of Companies JSC.

In addition, new developments in the component base were presented at IKAR’s booth. One of them, the “RM” steering gear, is used as electric drive for aircraft such as SH-450 M and alike.

As a power plant, IKAR specialists showed an electric motor for multi-rotor aircraft of their own design – EDM-8724-100. This model is a functional equivalent of foreign products of a similar class. Its further use in unmanned vehicles is another step towards the import substitution of the component base.
